Bangladeshi Women in e-Sports: Breaking Boundaries!
As a child, visiting relatives' houses meant playing games. Growing up, interest in computer gaming grew. Then the tendency to go to the house of friends who can play games at their house increases. Friendship is strong. Gaming hubs have a great time playing games with gaming lovers. For hours and hours, press the up-down-left-right arrow on the computer keyboard with small fingers to drive a car across all the obstacles in NFS or drive a motorbike vigorously in a frantic effort to win the race in Road Rush. Participation in competitions and tournaments begins. As the importance of the hubs decreased, various software companies of the country became the organizers of the competition.
They attacked there too. After that, they are taking themselves to new heights in the field of international gaming by signing excellent talent. Bangladesh is creating a new milestone in the world of e-sports. Recently, this indomitable girls' team represented Bangladesh in the Dota 2 competition of the 'Global e-Sports Games 2022'.
A five-member girl group is taking the country's gaming scene to new heights. Now let's know about these invincible girls in the world of e-sports.
Nushin 'Mirazein' Reza
Nushin, a graduate student and captain of Team Mayhem, has a passion for gaming. Despite many adversities, due to the strong interest of five people, 'Mirazein' has been able to make its debut as a team. As a 'girl' gamer, society's negative comments were the main obstacles in Nushan's gaming journey. Despite that, she is moving forward with her talent by continuing to practice consistently, overcoming all the obstacles.
Anika 'Nublet' Tabassum Medha
Playing tricks of the trade is often seen in social media streaming. She has set herself apart in the gamer community through her playing style. Gaming for talent is an important part of her lifestyle. But she also had to put up with a lot of nagging about participating in competitive gaming as a girl.
But regardless of these things, she is moving forward on her own to reach new heights.
Ashnandrila 'Bombastic Potato' Saha
The youngest member of the team recently completed A-levels. She has been playing 'Dota 2' for six years. Besides pursuing higher education abroad, she wants to develop herself as a professional gamer with the support of better infrastructure in the future.
Tasneem 'Legal Girl' Tawfiq
Tasnim, a graduate student, was introduced to her team members because of her keen interest in gaming. She has been playing the game for many years. Having played numerous matches with the members of Team Mayhem, they achieved a unique milestone together. Despite their many differences, they are united by their immense respect for each other.
Sabrima 'Sunshine' Sumaiya
A recent graduate, Sabrima started gaming in 2016. Among all the games she has played, 'Dota 2' is her favorite. After a 2-year hiatus from gaming, due to unavoidable reasons; But with consistent practice and impeccable efforts, she returned to the world of gaming, achieving unprecedented success.
These five girls represented Bangladesh at the 'Dota 2' Women's National Team Tryouts for Bangladesh, organized by The Global eSports Federation and Bangladesh Youth Development and Electronic Sports Association (BYDESA), assisted by coach Sadman 'Jimmy' Abidur Rahman. There in the South Asia group stage they collided with Team Singapore and Team Sri Lanka!
